Still Circling the Wagons in Buffalo

June 29, 2009

Buffalo Bills fans can rest easy, for now at least, as it looks like team owner Ralph Wilson does not intend to add more home games in Toronto in the near future.  The Bills tested the waters in Toronto this past season and the results were not great.  The crowd seemed to lack the fire of a regular Buffalo home crowd in a “home” game against the Dolphins, a loss for the team.  The NFL has discussed expanding the season by adding a couple of extra regular season games.  If that were to occur, it could result in more Toronto games for the Bills.  “I’m sure they want another game,” Wilson said of the city of Toronto.  “And who knows.  I don’t know whether they’ll get another game or not.  We’ll have to see how it works out up there.”

The Bills are focused on trying to make a run to the playoffs this upcoming season.  They made the splash of the offseason by acquiring wide receiver Terrell Owens and are clearly looking to win now.  With Owens, fellow wide receiver Lee Evans, quarterback Trent Edwards and running backs Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson, this offense should be one of the more potent in the conference as long as the offensive line holds up.  Owens should add some consistency to the passing game and bring some star power to the team.
