It’s never too early to start thinking about the next NFL Draft, at least that’s what ESPN’s Todd McShay thinks. McShay has released a 2010 mock draft in the wake of last weekend’s 2009 draft. The mock is headlined by Oklahoma quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford, who elected to go back to OU this season. Bradford is extremely accurate and looks like he should be a great pro. This blogger liked his decision to return to OU, though, because he could use some more experience and some time to fill out physically. Bradford is joined by two teammates in McShay’s top five, offensive tackle Trent Williams and tight end Jermaine Gresham.
McShay has Texas quarterback and Heisman finalist Colt McCoy going sixth overall. The first running back off the board in this mock is Clemson’s C.J. Spiller, at 15, and the first receiver to go is LSU’s Brandon LaFell at 18. It’s no surprise that Florida quarterback Tim Tebow is not present in McShay’s mock, as it only details a first-round prediction and McShay has long said that he doesn’t think Tebow is an NFL quarterback. Still, one has to think that a team could take a chance on the Heisman winner and two-time National Champion by the time next April rolls around.
