Fans of the National Football League are now lucky enough to watch three football games on Thanksgiving each year, that is, as long as they have NFL Network. The most intriguing contest tomorrow will take place between the Arizona Cardinals and Philadelphia Eagles, which, coincidentally, is the contest that will be shown on the elusive channel. Eagles coach Andy Reid made two very interesting decisions in the last week concerning the quarterback situation in Philadelphia. First, he benched the guy who has been the Eagles’ starting signal caller for the past decade, Donovan McNabb, in a 10-7 game and thrust a guy who had never thrown an NFL pass before this season, Kevin Kolb, into the spotlight against one of the league’s best defenses. Now, with the playoffs pretty much a pipe dream, Reid decides to go back to McNabb for this matchup with the Cardinals instead of seeing what Kolb, the quarterback of the near future, can do.
The Titans take on the Lions in what could be a real thrashing. At this point, the Lions just need to give Drew Stanton some time to see if he’s the quarterback of the future or if the franchise should address the position in next year’s draft. The Cowboys take on the Seahawks as they try to reestablish themselves as an NFC title contender. Have a happy Thanksgiving all! Back on Monday.
