The Colts defense was much-maligned this season for its inability to stop the run. Many reasons were offered for this problem, ranging from the team being “soft” to missing players. Perhaps the injury excuse holds some water, as since S Bob Sanders has returned, the Colts have not allowed a team to have a big game on the ground, allowing only 73 yards per game rushing in the playoffs.
Sanders may stand only 5″8′, but he’s as physical as any safety in the league, and that attitude is contageous. Whether that makes all the difference against the Bears’ running attack remains to be seen, but you can see it for yourself if you go to StubHub.com and choose from the remaining available Super Bowl tickets.
